I haven't posted here in quite a while, but Sinclair is doing fine, and made his first bubble nest a couple days ago. Talk about being one proud mamma. He's also pooing -was dealing with constipation before so this is a big relief- and eating his pellets whole instead of crushed.
I believe my tank is finally lined out and all is well with the world.

Yesterday I found a piece of driftwood that's actually pretty cool looking. And by found I mean it was on the river-bank. It's sort of arched so it would give him something new to hide under and swim around. I think he would a kick out of it.
What I'm wondering is if it's safe to add real driftwood to his tank and if so, what must be done in order to make it safe?
I would really love to add it, but if there's no way to make it safe, then I'll return it to the wild. Lol.

It doesn't have any rough or sharp edges. The knot looks rough but it isn't. -the darkness is wet areas. It was sitting in the sink before this.

That's gorgeous, and I'm sure he'd love the shape. What are the pollution levels in that river?

I honestly wouldn't be able to tell you that. I do swim in frequently though, so I hope they're not too high, Lol.

Well, a lot of people use driftwood they found and love it, so I'd see if you can find out about pollution levels from local officials, and if they're not high, go ahead and research how to cure found wood. :)
