They look a little beat up because they are. Theyre way more aggressive than my reds and the in fighting is unreal. I have to keep a constant eye on them and try to stop any serious fights. Im loving them though. Amazing fish.

Thanks! Theyre in a 125. Ive never had to babysit a tank like this. Theyre calming down though, probably because im lowering the tank temp from 84 degrees down to 74 degrees. The lower temp opens them up for stuff like ich, but it also brings down the aggression. I can treat ich, i cant treat "ripped-apart-by-friends."

Yeah i always hate finding cannibalized piranha heads on the floor of the tank, but it doesnt happen too oftenfor me. The cariba havent cannibalized a brother in a long long time, and my reds havent in months. Theyre also all about 6" so hopefully theyre past that super cannibalistic stage.

Im using a canon rebel something or other lol. Gf's dad gave it to us when he got a new/better d-slr camera lol

LOL, I'm still trying to save for the D-SLR. It cost a little over a grand here in Canada after taxes, warrenty, cases and the lens options. I'm probably try a shoal of 5 if I ever decide to cariba again. Guess you can't really avoid the cannibalism in the end, after all that's why their called cariba right? lol

Yeah, you can find little package deals pretty easy but finding a good lens, case etc can add up quickly.

Yeah they are called that for a reason lol

Wow. They look like they'd be peaceful fish if you didn't know any better. I suppose they don't just swim around with teeth bared though.
