I'm Tides of Darkness...call me Tide or something.
I have bred guppies and, accidentally, goldfish, at one point... I didn't have a camera at the time, but that was a few years ago.
I am going to try bettas sometime.
So a couple questions before I tell you about myself. After I found a suitable veil male, I read something that said most people these days like bettas with bigger fins. Should I try to get a different tail type??
But also, I have a delta male. Should I try and find a female for him instead?
Anyways, I do not feel comfortable telling my age or name or anything...
But... I will say a few things about me.
I get VERY mad when I see fish kept in vases. I get so mad in walmart when I see the fish...I have to ignore them and continue looking at tank stuff.
I like criticism, but not being bashed. A lot of times, I get bashed for things instead of being properly corrected...
Well, questions are welcome!

What do you plan for said betta once you get it? Just wondering why you are worried about tail type or finding a female.
I hear you on the bashed thing, I know how that goes all too well.
Anyhow, Welcome again and make yourself at home!

But if/when I get a female for one of them, I'm going to let her get used to her surroundings and see if she survives (ha, I've had plenty of one-dayers), of course, and see if she and my male like each other; letting them look at each other through glass for a few seconds. <--not saying its the best way, but it's gonna be how I do this.
Then, I'll see about breeding later when I get time...

It's very gratifying whenever someone comes here to do a little research before they buy. Your betta (which you are required by law (UB law) to post pics of when you get him/her) will thank you for your forethought.
