Hi all, my FIRST post to ultimatebettas.com! So exciting!

So here goes, I just got two brand new pairs of bettas and am not that versed in the genetics of bettas just yet (learning and reading as much as I can take in). I got a pair of purple grizzle and a pair of melano. Now at first I was quite concerned that the melano female had a blue tinge to her but have since read that pure melano female are usually infertile so they breed with a blue female to make sure she will spawn and have viable offspring. Is this correct?

Also, I was reading a post on grizzling in bettas and read that it is a much more firm coloring than marble, where as the F1 will tend to look like the parents and not come out in lots of different colors? Is this true as well?

Sorry for the MANY questions but I want to make sure I know exactly what I'm doing and what I'll get out of these pairs.

Last one, for now, I swear...if I were to breed the melano male with a different female would I be likely to just get marbled offspring of different colors?

Thank you so much for any help!
