Tumor on Pearlscale Goldfish, please help!

A few days ago, I noticed my pearl scale goldfish had a small, but noticeable bump near his gill on one side. It isn't covering the gill and doesn't seem to be hindering him. He is swimming fine and seems healthy. I just am not sure what to do at this point, I don't want to lose this little guy. I've made a strong bond with him.

It is next to the gills, but is covered in scales, so it is more of a bump than a tumor I think. Sorry for not my own picture, my camera stinks. -.- It isn't large either, just a slight protruding bump.

Unless we can see the bump on your fish there's no need to post a pic of a random goldfish.

Maybe some more details about their tank, how often you clean and test the water and whatnot would be more helpful.
