Sometimes I crack my own self up ;) Not too shabby (IMO) considering where they came from! Now if they'd just quit hiding from the camera!

I pulled it all together from scraps here at the house. The container was in the laundry room unused. I'm not sure how much water it holds, but it measures 22" long, 12" wide and 11" tall.

The filter was the one on the side of my 10 gallon tank that was turned into a grow out tank. Since I'm just using a sponge filter in that tank this one was sitting unused- the baffle on the filter is just a cut soda bottle.

I put the wood & bungee cords on it to help reinforce the plastic. The bin wasn't showing any strain but I wanted to be on the safe side. Those pieces were in the garage.

The log centerpiece is a simple one you can find at Wal Mart that I wasn't using so it was perfect for this container.

The plants on the side- a bit of pothos in the front left corner and lucky bamboo along the side. Bamboo can't be submerged in a healthy manner so I just used clear suction cups with "clips" made into them to grasp the plants into place. Those were another "junk" item I had stashed away here.

Pretty simple and basic but it serves its purpose.

I do have the lid for the bin- if Im going to be gone I can place it over the setup (minus the filter) in order to keep an accident from happening if one were to decide to jump. I have yet to see that type of behavior- but who knows.

That's a pretty good set up for random things from around the house!

Ok, Hesher and Octavia were upgraded today thanks to the Petco $1/gallon sale. I didn't know if I should use a 20 gallon long or a 20 gallon tall tank so I bought both and then found that the tall fit perfectly on the cabinet I have been using for them.

Anyway, I know 20 isn't enough for them but they're the fish from another thread I have in this forum- they absolutely came from crap and have slowly worked their way into this setup.

I used their existing water to get this tank started and then had to add new to fill it the rest of the way. I had a major spill when I moved the container they just upgraded from- yikes! I'm not always very graceful but I do own a carpet steam cleaner, and they had a very recent water change so I'm not overly upset about it.

Im sure there is more I can do to their tank yet but this is what I have. As for the 20 long, it just didn't fit where I had envisioned putting it which is an aggrivation so I'm waiting that one out until I figure out where/what to do with it.

They are still small enough that a 20 gallon won't be very crowded for them. As long as you over-filter and keep check of the parameters their water quality should be fine. They look pretty happy to me anyway! The 20 gallon is a nice tank in general, it can be used for intermedial housing of larger fish as well as be permanent housing for smaller community fish.

After all this time/work- a friend emailed me today to see if I still had the goldfish. She wanted to take them now that her 65gallon high tank is ready to go :)
