I had two beautiful boys a couple months ago, but when my husband and I separated, he flushed them before I could get them out :annoyed:

Anyways, I had some pics of them and I'd like to know the color mutation they were. The younger one I got only a few weeks before his untimely death, but he did change colors in those short weeks. Here are the photos:

Goliath, the adult:

And the baby who changed colors:

It turned out that when I got them decent aquariums and went to get them, he had already flushed them which is heartbreaking to me, but at least the boys I have now are in a big, spacious home.

They are both royal blue veiltails with a red wash.

Thank you! I've always liked the deep royal blues. The two I have now I have identified as a steel blue (LOVE!) and the other is a harder one...he looks marbled and appears to be purple, pink and red...but unfortunately I don't have a camera anymore so I can't post pics.

I can't seem to decide which colors I like best :) I absolutely have a lot of royal blues in my collection though! They're such a gorgeous color.

It WAS a horrible thing to do...one of the reasons the guy ain't worth my time anymore ;) I loved Goliath...when he grew up he was just a beast with attitude! I got them from Walmart, who literally had DEAD BETTAS in those tiny little cups, and they had been dead for a while. I would usually go into Walmart and fill the cups that still had live fish because they'd only give them an inch of water to live in. So cruel. I brought these two home and they did well for me, despite where I got them from.

Vindictiveness and Carma go hand in hand. He will be dealt with for his behavior. My horrible neighbor who would call the police or the department of family services or the electric co. or fire department and make accusitory reports (false ones) to the point that I had to sell my mobile home that I paid $14,000 for originally to another neighbors brother for $1,000 just to get away from him. While loading up some of the last of my things I see his leg in a caste and find out he'd crashed and totaled his new Harley. I didn't say a thing but all I could think to myself was, "Uh huh, Carma buddy; Carma."

Oh, I agree. He'll get his eventually. Flushing perfectly healthy fish is just the beginning...there are many other reasons why I left him ;) He'd beat up on all of my animals, but he can't touch anything now because I'm 3,000 miles away from him and he'll have to deal with that karma alone when it hits, if it hasn't already! :shift:
