OMG!!!! their like mini mom and dads! how old now? And dad(is that dad?) is being a good parent. Out of general curiosity and since its the main topic of my Bio class right now,

Would this make Albino a ressesive gene and brown Dom? So the parents would be Bb and Bb, both hetrozygous for albino? Explaining why around 1/4 of them are albino?

That is indeed dad. I had to separate them! They were making too many kids. I love it when dad is just sitting around the tank with a mini him sitting on his head. It is SO freaking cute. (Essentially my fish room is overloaded with cute)

These kids are from... mid December.

Yes, albino is recessive and many browns carry it. I also got a few that were an odd color. I don't know how to describe it. It's like a yellow with brown over it making them look a little green? I got one or two total. There is also a variation in the albinos. The yellow albinos grow extremely well and are on pace with their siblings. The white white albinos don't thrive well. They eat and all that, they just don't seem to grow well.

Very intresting, possible the color of the albino is linked to the health of the animal(or say the weaker ones are genetic runts?). Its very cool. green huh, like Codom green or Parshil dom green? Your fish room is like the kingdom of cute right now XP. Glad moms Ok, But hey, its not their fault your tanks are so darn perfect for breeding.

Haha I think they just liked that I stuff them with food and when I change a pleco poo tank I have to change a lot of the water.

I have no idea if the greenish ones are a different color, and I don't know the genetics behind it. I'll try and catch one. The older batch are the only ones I noticed it on.

I'm not sure if the weaker ones tone down their color as a dominance thing, or if it is something genetic, or what. I'm just observing :P I wasn't planning on breeding plecos! It just happens...

Are the albino looking ones really albino or it is possible they've actually got a form of lethal white gene?
