I never know what to call them LOL  I saw a posting on CL for "betas" and opened it up and it was an add for 3 females. They wanted money for them but surprisingly gave in to letting me have them for free pretty easily.

I picked them up about 20 minutes ago along with a tattered male guppy who'll be going in my tetra/RCS tank until I can find him a home with more guppies. The 3 girls are all VT. They're super big and super overfed. Two have some minor fin rot but otherwise they seem healthy. The guppy was apparently picked on and has a bunch of chunks missing out of his fins. The 2 girls with fin rot will be going into hospital tanks with aquarium salt for 10 days and the other girl and Mr. Guppy will be going into QT. After a month or two they'll be up for adoption.

Including Glitter, these new girls and Mr. Guppy, and the 4 more betta I have coming in in a couple weeks I'll have 9 foster fish :D

Here's a couple crappy cell phone pics. It suddenly got really cold this afternoon (well.. cold for Savannah) so I'm letting them warm up in their cups before setting up their tanks. I'll get more pics once they've settled in more :)

They look fairly healthy. What kind of conditions were they being kept in, do you know?

The 3 girls were being kept in a 5 gallon together as a sorority >.< I didn't ask about the guppy.. She just showed up with him so I took him too.

They are fairly healthy. The two with fin damage have very minor rot and I did notice a bit of fuzzy on the bi-color's dorsal. I think she cared for them, just wasn't totally knowledgeable about them. They're definitely well fed I can say that, all three are on the chunky side. She told me she didn't have time for fish anymore.

I fed the girls yesterday and checked for poopies today and only saw a few tiny strings of poop so I'm going to do 100% changes (which I'd have to do today anyways) and add epsom salt. I'm going to feed them frozen daphnia and see if that in conjunction with the epsom salt get's them moving again. If not I have anti-parasitic meds and a divided 10 gallon I can use as a hospital tank to treat them. All 3 are active and colorful, as is Mr. Guppy.
