I was wondering do anyone know how to judge a veiltail? I notice its very different from judging a HM. ie - 180 degree tail spread, porportion of tail n body ratio, etc. if anyone have info about it i will be really appreciated. Thx

Last i heard they don't allow vailtails in shows anymore? So i wouldn't know where to find the judging points.

There is no 'recognized' standard of a veil tail as far as I know. However, I imagine basic standards like body proportion, body shape and fin ratio would still apply.

If you are interested in Betta standards, this site over here explains how standards are developed and a 'proposed' standard of a veil tail.

But, it is true that veils are hardly ever judged or accepted into shows, which is a shame. If it were, people might consider developing healthy lines. :/

I think the IBC does have a veil class now,as some of the breeders are working with them.
