I am getting a Red copper HM Giant female from Thialand to breed to my Giant Red Dragon HM because they did not have the Red Dragon female HM . The Red copper HM female giant looks great though and if I breed them will I get 50-50 Red dragon - Red copper ? I saw a post here On Jim Sonniers page on genetics and wanted to respond to that and ask if he still sells fish and ever sold any Crown Tail Giants . I emailed him a while ago and got no reply and tried again today from info on that post and I hope to get a reply . Can it be told why that thread was locked before anyone could reply , what was the big no no ? Thanks

I don't know what thread you're talking about but this is Jim's website. I don't think he has any fish for sale though.

I had asked Jim about the King Bettas and he replied that if they were Giants to feed them well. I'm assuming he hasn't had any experience with Giants or the "King" Betta. I have Dragons in some of my spawns and usually expect a variety of Dragon scaling from a cross like you are asking about. It's not a 50/50 chance of getting Dragons but more of a lot of different degrees of Dragon scaling. If you want Dragons you'll have to pick the fry with the best scaling and color you are looking for and breed those together or back to the father.

I got an email from him that he was out of selling fish and the giants eat to much !!! I cant believe how many people complain about the giants needing more room and eating to much when they are a LARGER FISH !!! OF COURSE THEY EAT MORE AND NEED MORE ROOM . it just seems like a lame reason to stop having them. Be it a larger fish , Dog or horse , the larger ones need more room and eat more . Anyone who could not figure that one out before hand needs to stay FAR away from living animals .
