i have an empty 55 gallon tank which being going on for 2 yrs now. moved the comet goldfish to the outside pond. so all the good stuff is still in there. i can't makeup my mind on which african cichlid i want yet. but i do know i want some small one max is 5" only. only one type of this spiece in the tank. so here my list: peacock, krib, rusty, yellow lab, n etc. will come up with some more or if you guys have some idea that will be great too. i like 1 male and 2-3 females. filter is aquaclear 110. sand on the bottom n a few rock work. will add more or keep it as is depending on peacock, hap. or munba. so what type is should i go with? what speice too? more peaceful type is highly recommended please. thanks guy. trying something new beside betta, neon tetra, n clownfish.

I'd go with the Peacocks if I were you. The males are extremely colorful and they're some of the least aggressive cichlid's I've ever seen/owned. They do get bigger than 5 inches but if there's just like a trio of them you don't have to worry much so long as you got a good amount of rock/wood work going in there.

They're also very friendly fish once they come to know you. One Sunshine we had actually used to like the pomeranian. Whenever we picked her up he'd rush forward to take a look at her haha

I'd probably go with peacocks too if I was going with Africans. They just have such variety in colors.
