Ok, so first it was the king betta going around and it sorta makes everybody wondering if they are giant or not? Then I start hearing this thing about Queen Bettas? I wasn't sure what they are. So, yesterday went to walmart and was feeling a little bit lucky and decided to check the fish section and.......!!They have these large, big female plakat which are alot more BIGGER than the females that I've seen at Petco. But there was no label saying ''Queen betta''? Some females were label as male betta too. I look through all of them, cups by cups and decided to get the two largest female plakat and a small but marble pretty female/ which I have never seen before.

When I got home, I examine the three bettas closely and one of them turns out to be a young male plakat/ the marble pretty one. Second betta was label as a female betta and it was a female and the third betta was label as a male betta and was really a female too. So, are these really the Queen Bettas that I have been hearing about? The third female which was big/large measures directly at 2.7 inches starting at the tip of the ruler. Are they half giant?Giant? or just big/large??

I've also seen these at my local wal-mart and wondered why the females were so big but thought that they were just large veiltail females. Also How do you know exactly that they are plakat females and not veiltail?

I haven't heard antyhigna bout queen bettas.... but it's an interesting concept. You can alwasy count on Wal-Mart to get nice bettas for cheap considering how often they're mislabeled.

Wouldn't it make sense that a Queen betta is the female version of a King betta? So just a giant female in other words.

There's some subtle differences in the fins and such that give it away..It's one of the tougher tailtypes to pinpoint though

I'm not sure if they are giant females or just large because in fact, I have never seen a real giant female live so I don't know what the size difference are but compare to the female they sell at Petco, these are way bigger and bulky females. I dont know if they are young or old but I think they are young big females. I will try to post up some pics later, I will need to barrow my bro's camera.

Where are these walmarts? I've been to three places and they don't have any live fish.

I went to walmart tonight and I actually saw what you were talking about! I saw a HUGE female bigger than any other I have seen! Idk, it could possibly be an actual "queen betta"

Consider it a GREAT thing that your walmarts dont carry fish. If you want Unique betta i here petcosmart has some. But honestly its pretty cool that your walmarts arnt carrying fish anymore, my stores have the giants too. I wish they would shut down their fish section all togather.
