Hey all... I figured I'd introduce my little guys-- peacock gudgeons or scientifically named: Tateurndina ocellicauda. They are 2"-2.5" inches in length MAX, strictly freshwater goby from Papua /New Guinea. They live in slow moving rivers and streams. They are cave dwellers and like to spawn in tight little places! Mine like their 1/2 inch PVC pipe (3" long). Spawning them is easy. No conditioning is necessary.

This is my male peacock gudgeon. He's still developing his cephalic hump (like some cichlids).

This is my female peacock gudgeon. Notice her more slender head and plump belly?

I love these fish! Extremely easy to take care of-- eating frozen bloodworms and live blackworms, typical water parameters, and never aggressive to other species. Curious fish, though... they will watch me work around my room.

I'm going to set up a spawning tank and when/if I'm successful I'll post some pictures of the fry. They are slow growing so it'll be a while.

Some resources:

My favorite-- http://www.aquaticco...d101-page1.html

A great website-- http://members.aol.c...an/gudgeon.html

Lots of articles here-- http://www.aquarticl...licaudahtml.htm

I hope this interested you enough to see if this goby is right for you!
