The Gold Ocellatus is an aggressive cichlid from Lake Tanganyika, the biggest of the great lakes in Africa. It is best to keep at least 2 females for each male to avoid aggression problems. The Ocellatus takes a long time to mature and when it has reached maturity the males will be a lot larger than the females. These cichlids breed and take up homes in various snail shells so, be prepared to put some shells in your tank upon obtaining some Ocellatus.
