Couldn't find this posted anywhere else, but I figured even if it was, it was good info, so it bears repeating!

Alot of people sometimes wonder when do you use what medication? What does each medication treat? What should they be looking for when they go to buy something for a specific illness? Well, here's a GREAT reference for a slew of fishie meds that Drs Foster Smith has on their site.

Mark this in your bookmarks, or print it out and keep it somewhere handy. It's a great resource to have nearby just in case.

Hm, I am a bit confused about Methylene Blue now?

I have read elsewhere that it gets rid of ich, and it even says so on the Methylene Blue they sell on that website ("Aids in general disease prevention, including superficial fungal infection, ich, and costia"). However, on their chart it says it does not treat external parasites (which they define as "Velvet, Ich (ichtyophthirius), Anchor worm, Worms, Gill Flukes, Leeches").

Uh, what?!

I checked out the new link. It works! I cannot find what my betta has though.
My betta recently got sick; his bottom fins and tail has what looks like dark gray to black furry fungus. I am assuming that this is a case of advanced fin rot, but I am not sure. Anyone know?
Also, I was told at the pet store that I don't need a heater for him and that bettas will do fine in a room with steady temperature. He is in a 2 gallon bowl. What should I do?

Please let me know. Thanks!
