Hi everyone. I have a general question about Betta health. I bought a product called BettaZIng, and am waiting for it to arrive. Does anyone else use this? Is there anyhing I should know about this? I am thinking of using it as a preventative.....I want to keep my little tough-guy as happy and zippy as possible. Any down side? Here is a link to the page I bought it from. Am I gullible? Or are the claims true?
Thanks for any advice!

Personally...I would say that you got ripped off, sorry sader1.gif. I don't know about everyone else on here, but I'm leery of giving my fish kids "preventative" medication; if some illness does manage to pop up, they may well have developed a resistance to it, much like humans can develop a resistance to antibiotics. I don't dose my kids with anything but a pinch of aquarium salt in the water on changes for my tail-biter and a weekly dosage of garden pea for a meal to keep them regular. I would also be hesistant to take anything that Faith (from BettaTalk) was saying as gospel truth; she's notorious for overcharging people for fish and plying them with misinformation. Hope that helps!

Ain't it the truth. For the prices she charges for fish, a person could import several outstanding fish from Thailand that are much better quality. Charging 80 dollars for a super delta, then 35 dollars for shipping and 20 dollars for the box that must be returned (more shipping charges for the buyer, how fun). Oh sure, that 20 dollars is returned to you rolleyes12.gif Does she charge for the water the fish are in, too?

Long live aquabid!

I've seen pictures of the fish people have gotten from her, and many of them have finrot and other diseases, so I don't think that BettaZing (if she even uses it herself) or the fact she medicates them all the time with Aquarisol is helping them. *shakes head*

It's okay, I found her site first too through a resident of mine (in retrospect, I have no idea why I took this resident's advice, because it seems like she has a brain the size of a pea) and took the advice from there until my fish got sick, and then I wanted something where I wouldn't have to pay $25 dollars to ask her how to treat my fish (come on, wtf?)

So I typed in betta forum, and here I am, still milling about even though my fish is doing okay.

When I 1st started my path to betta knowledge I found Bettatalk. The site seemed run by a well meaning and talented individual. Then I saw the $25 consultation fee for 15 minutes of talk time. I knew right then she was a scam artist.

I once purchased some antibiotic medications from her (before they were available in my area). Outside of that, I got some java moss since I was already ordering and my lfs was out. The antibiotics helped my fish, and the moss did well after that, but I haven't had any other dealings with her. *shrug*
