This is a work in progress. I still haven't made up my mind if I wanna keep things the way they are or move them around.

I'm gonna add gravel and filter tomorrow and do a water flow test and see how things work and look.

Each cell is spaced to achieve a 3 gallon per cell. The back cell thats cut in half is for the filter.

Suggestions?

Your everyday plexiglass from home depot. I did all the cuts on a table saw.

I assume there's holes of some kind in each peice to aid in water flow?

yes, if you look there are slots cut into each piece. Picture 2 shows all the individual cuts, picture 3 shows each cell has 4 long slots cut to allow water to flow on top as well as the bottom

Why do you think it would be more maintenance? A quick wipe down of the sides and a normal gravel vac. Water change is easy, the slots will allow water in all the dividers.

Think I could get you to make me some of those (when I get the new tanks). I really need a chain saw, I mean uh tools.
That and there's this nagging voice telling it's too complicated and costs too much to try doing things myself, oh wait that's my hubby's voice. coverlaugh1.gif Mabey it's a good thing I don't have a chainsaw. whistle1.gif

I haven't had the time to get it up and running. I did finally get it in place yesterday and started filling it with water.

It flows nicely. Current isn't very strong at all. It should have some occupants by the end of the week.

Here's a pic of it in place. As you can see, I've been a little busy getting 55 setup as well.
