Hi there! As you may have read I purchased my betta, Bob, last Friday at Petsmart. He started out in a 1.5 gallon tank. I upgraded him today to a 5 gallon. He seems healthy other than this weird spot on his caudal fin. It is dark, doesn't seem raised or anything. I am just a little concerned. It looks like he has some fin damage from when I got him, but I see where new growth has started. I don't think it is fin rot, but wanted to see what you all think. His water stays around 78. When I put him in his new tank I added a tbsp of disolved aquarium salt. Here are his readings on a liquid test kit from his old tank (when I noticed the spot).
PH - 7.2
Ammonia - .50ppm
Nitrites - 0
Nitrates - 10
He also appears to have a loose scale on the side of his face. That could be from a plant. Any advice would be great. I am concerned and want to make sure I keep him as healthy as possible! Thank you.
Picture is a bit fuzzy, but he doesn't seem to understand "smile and say cheese!"
